A wide range of facilities can be accessed by students at CUHK Business School including the student-run Café 12, a demo kitchen, the Finance Trading Laboratory and the Hyatt Learning Center. CUHK Business School is one of the top universities in Hong Kong, offering a wide range of business programs. The Financial Times published a store in 2015 regarding the recruitment market of Master’s graduates in the banking and finance industry of three cities, one of which was Hong Kong. In the past couple of years it has become evident that an increasing amount of private equity companies invest in Hong Kong and CUHK Business School graduates are becoming increasingly popular among the firms. 

Accreditations

CUHK Business School has official received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the leading educational authorities with a concentration on postgraduate business education. 

CUHK Business School is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) validating its claim of persistent pursuit into educational excellence. These accreditations provide students with networking opportunities in over 150 countries as well as thought leadership, career development and several more perks.  

Programs

CUHK Business School currently offers 8 Master’s programs in: Accountancy; Actuarial Science & Insurance Analytics; Business Analytics; Finance; Information & Technology Management; Management; Marketing; and Real Estate. 

The MSc in Actuarial Science and Insurance Analytics (ASI) is a full-time master’s program that has recently been made available for prospective students. It is Hong Kong’s only actuarial science master’s program where students will study under a syllabus approved by the International Actuarial Association. 

Scholarships

CUHK Business School currently offers the ‘Targeted Taught Postgraduate Fellowships Scheme’ or the ‘Scheme’ which provides fellowships for local Hong Kong students with the ambition of pursuing a master’s degree at CUHK Business School. Students enrolling into the MSc in Finance and MSc in Information & Technology programs are eligible for the scholarship. Applicants seeking to apply for the scholarship must contact respective program offices to obtain an Application Form for the Scheme. 

Fun fact

CUHK Business School conducted a study in early 2022 concerning Digital Tracing Alerts (DGAs) in the fight against Covid-19. Academics at CUHK Business School examined how real-time instant DTAs that often include people’s private information prevents and helps manage the Covid-19 pandemic. They found that the instant messaging of Covid-19 status information induced movement among 1.88% of the infected district’s floating population to other areas in an hour thereby decreasing population density by 27.78 individuals per square kilometer. 

The results identify that the disclosure of specific private information on confirmed patients leads to a limited effect on public safety while on the other hand, disaster-description texts associated with subgroups could play a part in reassuring and reducing the social alertness of most individuals who do not belong to the group of interest.
