Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) was founded in 1965 as one of the UK's first two business schools, following the 1963 Franks Report which recommended establishing business schools in Manchester and London. Manchester Business School, UMIST's Manchester School of Management, the Institute of Innovation Research, and Victoria University's School of Accounting and Finance formed the merged in 2004, forming the modern AMBS. 

Renamed in 2015 following Lord Alliance's £15 million donation, AMBS now serves over 6,500 students from 135 nationalities and maintains a network of 60,000+ alumni across 176 countries.
