Location

AUD lies at the center of Dubai’s creative hub with its impressive facilities and multi-purpose spaces tucked in classic american-style architecture, all on a 1.0 million sq.ft. gated campus. Accreditations

AUD is officially licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education meaning a large number of their graduate courses are accredited by the MoE. AUD is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award Baccalaureate and Master’s degree levels and is the first institution outside the U.S. and Latin America to receive the accreditation. 

Civil, Computer, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programs at the school are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation of Commission of ABET. AUD is also accredited by AACSB International and is permitted by the knowedge and human development authority (KHDA). 

Programs

AUD offers 8 Master’s programs; Education (M.Ed.), Arts in Leadership & Innovation in Contemporary Media (MALICM), Arts in International Affairs (MAIA), Business Administration (M.B.A.), Executive Master of Business Administration (E.M.B.A.), Science in Construction Management (MSCM), Arts in Intellectual Property & Innovation Management (MA.IPM), Urban Design & Digital Environments (MUDDE). 

AUD also offers certificate programs allowing students to pick up a new subject or skill outside of their general area of study. One of these programs is the Professional Teaching Certificate (P.T.C.) an 18 hour credit program based around helping students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective teachers with a focus on building human relationships.

Scholarships

There are three possible scholarships for graduates. The AUD School of Education Tuition Waiver aims to support educators in recognition of their tireless hours of work to shape future generations of leaders and society as a whole. To this end, the school offers a 40% tuition waiver for qualified applications for the M.Ed. and P.T.C..

AUD alumni that have been admitted to any AUD graduate program are entitled to a 25% tuition waiver until graduation. 

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship for Graduate Study entitles the recipient to a partial/full tuition waiver which is maintained until the student graduates assuming they meet the required academic credits each semester.

Fun fact

As the 2022 QS Rankings roll out AUD remain at the top of the list for the 5th consecutive year, 4th in the UAE for the 5th consecutive year among the top universities in the Arab world. AUD is also ranked 2nd worldwide for Student Diversity and 4th for Faculty Diverstiy making AUD one of the most diverse and culturally rich campuses in the world. 

In the fall of 2002, the very first engineering student was admitted to AUD and just a few months later H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially inaugurated the School of Engineering in November and 6 years later in 2008 the university was given ABET accreditation.
