School
Location
With two campus locations, Ciutadella Campus (UPF) and Bellaterra Campus (UAB), BSE creates one wholistic community. The UPF campus lies in the center of Barcelona and is just a quick stroll away from the vast Mediterranean Sea and the UAB campus is surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape with plenty of public transport in between.
Barcelona is a known hub of tech start ups therefore has a great connection to Europe and the rest of the world. The city itself contains several iconic cultural landmarks, activities, sports clubs, restaurants and much more.
Accreditations
The BSE has been accredited as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence in every edition of the program (2012-15; 2016-19;2020-23). The European Research Counil (ERC) Grants towards the BSE give insight towards the world-class research within the university across all academic disciplines.
The BSE has also been accredited by the “la Caixa” Foundation Research Grants on Socioeconomic Well-being for its industry-leading projects and significance for socioeconomic well-being. Junior researchers and affiliated proferros across all academic units enjoy Seed Grants aimed towards “supporting the scientific development of BSE researches.”
Programs
At the BSE prospective students can choose from three official master’s degrees: Economics & Finance, Specialized Economic Analysis, or Data Science. Behind these three Master’s degrees there are several economics, finance and data science programs that you can apply for.
You can decide whether to apply to one program or receive multiple offers from several, you can be considered for up to three programs annually and this includes financial aid for all three programs. Attaining a master’s degree at BSE means your degree will be recognized globally, all master’s degrees at BSE have been recognized by the Catalan and Spanish Education authorities.
Scholarships
There are three fully-funded scholarships available from BSE’s sponsors; Accenture Data Science Scholarship, the Ramón Areces Foundation Scholarships and the Unicredit Foundation Masters Scholarships. Accenture sponsors one scholarship for a student enrolled in the BSE Data Science Methodology Program in which all applicants are considered.
Fundación Ramón Areces provides scholarships for students in the BSE Economics Program or Finance Program. The Univredit Foundation sponsors one full scholarship for study in the BSE Economics Program or Finance Program. All applicants in any of these programs are eligible to receive the scholarship.
Fun fact
Within six months of graduating 94% of The Class of 2021 at the BSE obtained a job or successfully continued their studies via a postgraduate program related to their BSE Master’s studies, according to the BSE Career Services.
This high demand for elite skills and knowledge reflects the efforts the students make throughout the years. Several students take up the offer from the BSE career counselors, who assist them with training sessions, individual guidance and recruiting events.
