The University of London is one of the oldest universities in the UK and survived several historical events, including WW2. It is well known that London was severely bombed during the early stages of WW2, yet the University remained unscathed. Historians claim Adolf Hitler ordered his fighters not to bomb the University as he planned on using its Senate House as his headquarters in the UK.
