BUas’ campus is located a short walk away from the city center of Breda, encircled by trees, walkways, sports fields and several renovated modern structures, the campus brings a charming and relaxed atmosphere to students. Accreditations

Breda University is internationally accredited by the European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education (ECA) with the Certificate for Quality in Program Internationalization for its Hotel and Tourism Management programs. BU’s Hotel and Tourism programs are also accredited by the International Center of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE), the UNWTO Tedqual certification system and the World Leisure Organization (WLO). 

Programs

BUas offers master’s programs at academic (‘wo’) and professional (‘hbo’) levels in the areas of Leisure & Events, Games, Logistics, Media, Tourism, and Imagineering. The Master of Science Leisure & Tourism Studies challenges studies to view the value of leisure and tourism in an ever-changing society from different perspectives. The course is centered around a multidisciplinary approach, essentially building on the knowledge and expertise from various disciplines. 

The Masters in Imagineering aims to equip students with the expertise to innovate, participate and lead processes of collaboration and creativity. The program focuses on “designing strategic narratives through engaging people in a creative manner”. 

Scholarships

BU offers 4 different master’s programs scholarships: StuNed Scholarships; VSBfonds Scholarship; LPDP Scholarship; and the Colfuturo Scholarship-Loan Program. The StuNed Scholarship focuses on mid-career professionals and aims to contribute to the development of Indonesia as part of their bilateral cooperation. 

The VSBfonds Scholarship is awarded to a few Dutch students annually and serves as financial aid for international study. The scholarship is worth €7,000 - €10,000 and enables students to travel abroad and complete a Master’s degree or perform research after their graduation in the Netherlands. 

Fun fact

In 2022 BUas celebrated its 55th anniversary in the form of a Celebration Week lasting through the 18th of May to the 21st. During the course of the Celebration Week BUas officially opened its new BUas campus in Breda. The celebrations will also involve a events for students, alumni, industry partners, neighbors and employees plus family and friends and is a statement of BUas commitment to community and togetherness values.
