ESC Clermont Business School was founded in 1919 and was one of France’s oldest business schools. The oldest (and still operating) business school in the world, is French! The first French business schools opened in the 1750s. Originally, these institutions were distinguished by the acronym ESC, highlighting their specialization in commerce and management education. Over time, many have abandoned this acronym in favor of more international names, hence the change to Clermont School of Business in 2024. The school is located in Clermont-Ferrand, home to Michelin’s global headquarters, creating strong industry connections. It has a diverse student body, with over 50 nationalities represented on campus. ESC Clermont emphasizes innovation and entrepreneurship, with many graduates launching successful startups worldwide.
