School

The Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) is dedicated to the education and training of innovative and successful scholars, teachers, and professionals. GSAS works with faculty to recruit the most promising students of diverse backgrounds, to develop and manage high-quality academic programs, and to create conditions in which graduate students can gain expertise and conduct original research in their fields.

Location

The Graduate School of Arts and Science is located in the infamous city of New York in NYU. Washington Square sits at the center of NYU in the heart of Greenwich Village. The village is a highlight of the city, being one of the hubs for creativity and energetic communities. 


New York offers public transportation across the city as well as affordable attractions and activities such as broadway shows, international events, and so much more. New York is also home to some of the world’s finest cuisines meaning students are always looking forward to their off-time to go explore the city. 

Accreditations

NYU is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). 

Programs

GSAS offers a variety of Master’s Degree Programs, so whether you’re starting a new career or developing your professional profile, a master’s degree is an essential part of your personal journey and professional development. 


Including Master’s Degree programs, joint-subject programs, and dual-degree programs, NYU offers nearly 100 master’s level programs available for students. 

Scholarships

GSAS offers scholarships based solely on merit. Master’s students are to contact the director of graduate studies in their department or program to inquire about potential scholarship funding/financial aid. 


GSAS also offers the ‘Diversity & Access Funding Programs’ for individuals coming from diverse backgrounds and whose academic experience and potential will contribute to the academic excellence and diversity at GSAS. The scholarship is awarded to a limited number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents. 

Fun fact

The Graduate School of Arts and Science hosts a series of events for women in academia. Relevant speakers are invited to come to the events for discussions on their experiences and give insights to one another.
