School

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world and is based in Delft, the Netherlands. The Institute confers fully accredited MSc degrees, and PhD degrees in collaboration with partner universities.

Location

The campus of IHE Delft is located in the center of Delft, the Netherlands and consists of three interconnected buildings. The area covers a whopping 14,000 square meters on which a multitude of modern facilities can be found such as four research & teaching laboratories, multifunctional lecture theaters, an in-house prayer room, ICT facilities, and much more. 

The city of Delft has a profound history which is characterized by the ancient canals and beautifully kept monuments around the city. Despite Delft’s deep roots, the city boasts an increasingly large, young and vibrant student population. 

Accreditations

MSc programs at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education are accredited by the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). This accreditation ensures the academic level and quality of the new programs have been assessed and will be safeguarded through the accreditation. 

Programs

IHE Delft has recently announced the implementation of two new Master of Science programs: the MSc in Water & Sustainable Development (starting annually in November as of 2022) and the Research MSc in Water & Sustainable Development (starting annually in November as of 2023). IHE Delft’s 18-month programs are no longer available for application. 

IHE Delft also offers Joint MSc Programs where part of the program is delivered at a partner institute. The Joint Master Degree programs focus on global water issues, specifically floods, droughts, and environmental degradation.

IHE Delft currently offers 22 different scholarship opportunities listed here. Financial assistance can range from partial to full coverage of your tuition fees.

IHE Delft provides Tailor-made advice and training that any student can take full advantage of. The services provided are in accordance with your specific requirements, meaning courses can be organized for groups from one or more organizations, sectors or regions. The training varies in length and depth completely depending on your needs and can be delivered on-site, at IHE Delft’s campus in Delft, or even a combination of the two.
