Location
The university is located in the second largest city in Russia, St. Petersburg, a city recognized as the cultural capital of Russia. St. Petersburg has a population of 5 million people and plenty of tourists with approximately 7 million foreigners visiting annually
The campus is home to over 171 educational and research buildings and 18 dormitories as well as a modern sports complex. Inside the campus is a wonderful park with historical relevance to the university’s past, as a place of inspiration for many generations of students and faculty.
Accreditations
Polytechnic University was the first Russian technical university to hold mutual international accreditation of their international educational programs. In 2015, the Resource Center of International Activities of SPbPU began the mutual international professional-public accreditation of the university’s international educational programs.
The accreditation was conducted by the National Center of Profesional-Public accreditation of the Russian Federation alongside ACQUIN, a German Institute for accreditation and quality assurance.
Programs
SPbPU offers a wide range of Master’s Degree Programs in English and Russian in the areas of Engineering, Management & Engineering, Natural Sciences, Economics & Management, and Humanities.
The programs generally consist of 2-4 year commitments and classes begin in early September. Master’s degree students at SPbPU are equipped with practical skills and perform groundbreaking scientific research.

Fun fact
SPbPU has recently been awarded the status of GVN Center for Global Virus Network. SPbPU’s Institute of biomedical Systems and Bio technologies has joined the GVN and received GVN Center of Excellence status. The GVN is a professional community of virologists-scientists spanning across 66 centers in 35 countries including the United States, China, Japan, Australia, Germany and others.
