Founded in 1885, the University of St. Thomas is a Catholic university based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis. We're the largest private university in Minnesota, with more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 110,000+ alumni. St. Thomas’ campus offers plenty of activities and leisure spots to enjoy on your time off including dining services who specialize in fresh, sustainable ingredients, the Anderson Student Center with multiple restaurants, a coffee shop, and a bowling alley, as well as numerous sports and exercise facilities across the campus.

Accreditations

The University of St. Thomas is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and has been since 1916. HLC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an institutional accreditor. HLC accreditation provides assurance to prospective students as well as employers of the quality and high standard of education offered at the University of St. Thomas. 

Programs

The University of St. Thomas offers 55+ graduate degree programs containing a variety of subject areas so you can find the right fit. The programs are available at two campus locations as well as online learning offering unparalleled flexibility that will fit your specific schedule and lifestyle. 

Scholarships

St. Thomas offers grants and scholarships for graduate degree students, some of which are need-based and require a candidate to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) while other scholarships are based solely on merit and therefore do not require the completion of the FAFSA. 

External scholarships are also available for students enrolling into graduate degree programs at St. Thomas. Departmental scholarships and grants are not listed on the university website and must be inquired about.

St. Thomas is currently working towards strategic priorities in their 2025 Plan, an ambitious five-year effort aimed towards propelling the university to a new level of impact.
