Location

The campus lies surrounded by trees with a 234-acre tree-line yet is just minutes away from the beating heart of Dallas. SMU Cox is located in the neighborhood of University Park and borders the North Central Expressway on the east, Hillcrest Avenue on the west, Mockingbird Lane on the south and Daniel Avenue on the north. 

The city of Dallas has much to offer in terms of post-degree career opportunities that will benefit students greatly. Students attending SMU will have access to a network of 58,000+ alumni in the DFW area. Dallas is also home to the 3rd most Fortune 500 companies in the country.  

Accreditations

SMU is accredited by the Commision on Colleges of the Southern Assoication of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, specialist, professional, and doctorate degrees. SMU’s next reaffirmation of accreditation is scheduled for 2023. 

The Cox School of Business under SMU is also accredited by the Association to Advnace Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) reflecting the institutions dedication to maintaining, if not increasing, its quality of education delivered to the business leaders of the future. 

Programs

SMU Cox School of Business offers 6 Master’s programs in: Accounting; Business Analytics; Finance; Management; Health Promotion Management’ and Sport Management. The programs take under 2 years to complete and are available in full-time and part-time formats, the prior lasting 9 months and the latter, 12.  

At Cox, you’ll study with professors who don't merely teach - they’re driving the Dallas business boom. 

Scholarships

Forbes considered SMU among the “schools with the highest quality and best financial outcomes” in its 2019 “Best Value Colleges” ranking likely because 3 out of first-year students are awarded grants and/or scholarship.

To be eligible for scholarship at SMU simply submit two forms by your chosen application deadline that can be found here. The first, the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” is for U.S. and dual citizens and permanent residents. The second, The CSS profile, is an institutional aid for SMU-funded opportunity awards based on financial need. 

Fun fact

New students come to SMU from across the United States and the world making for a giant mixing pot of talent running from art to robotis to entrepreneurship. The class enrolled in August of 2021 at SMU, consists of innovators, founders, sports captains, Girl Scout Gold Award winners and some of the most talented visual and performing artists in the world. All hailing from 44 states and 23 countries led by China, Mexico, Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, the UK and France.
