What Methodology Does FT Use for the Custom Ranking?

The FT Executive Education Custom Ranking 2024’s methodology uses data from the business schools and a survey completed by the schools’ clients in 2023. 

The survey (80%) asked the clients to rate the program based on nine criteria. These criteria include Program Design, Teaching Method and Materials, Faculty, and Goals Achieved. 

The remaining five criteria (20%) are based on information provided by the schools. The criteria are based on factors like International Clients, Growth, Partner Schools, Faculty Diversity, and Overseas Programs.

How does this year’s ranking compare to the FT Custom Ranking 2023? Many trends continue. 

The top ten schools are all primarily based in Europe. Business schools in France are heavily represented, with INSEAD in first place, HEC Paris tied for fourth, and ESSEC Business School in ninth. Is the next best-represented country Germany with two schools, IESE and ESMT Berlin.

Duke Corporate Education, from the US, and Fundação Dom Cabral, from Brazil, break this European streak. Interestingly, Duke Corporate Education dropped from its first place in 2023 to spot four.
